If I order only a fiber line, can I already use the internet?
No. The fiber line is only the physical connection. To actually get online you also need an Internet Provider and a Wi-Fi router. Hikari Play includes all of these together.
What is included in my Hikari Play plan?
Your Hikari Play service includes the fiber line, Internet Provider, Wi-Fi router and multilingual support. You do not need to arrange a separate ISP contract.
Which plan should I choose?
Mansion 1Gbps is for eligible apartment buildings, Family 1Gbps is for detached houses, and 10Gbps may be available for eligible apartment or detached-house addresses. We confirm the correct option after checking your full address.
Is 10Gbps available at every address?
No. 10Gbps availability depends on the NTT service area, the building and the fiber facilities available at your address. We check availability before confirming the plan.
What are the steps from placing the order to the installation day?
The process is simple and we guide you from the application to getting connected at home.
1 Order and inquiryYou place the order through the inquiry form on the website.
2 Send your Zairyu CardWe ask you to send a photo of your Zairyu Card so we can proceed with the registration.
3 We schedule the installationAfter checking availability, we arrange the installation date with you.
4 COD package and documents arriveBefore installation, you receive the documents by Daibiki (COD / Cash on Delivery) and pay the amount due directly to the delivery driver when the package arrives.
5 NTT installs the fiberOn the scheduled day, NTT installs the fiber line at your home.
6 We activate the providerOn the same day, we activate the Internet Provider so you can start using the internet.
From the customer side, the main steps are placing the order, sending the Zairyu Card, and being available on the installation day. We guide you through the rest.
How can I pay my monthly bill?
You can choose the payment method that is most convenient for you.
Convenience store payment slipWe can send you a payment slip that you can take to a participating convenience store in Japan and pay at the counter.

How much are the monthly plans?
Mansion 1Gbps is ¥6,335 per month, Family 1Gbps is ¥7,335 per month, and Mansion or Family 10Gbps is ¥7,335 per month. All of these prices include tax.
How does the NTT installation cost work?
The NTT installation cost is ¥39,600 tax included. With the 2-year contract, it is divided into 24 monthly installments of ¥1,650, and Hikari Play applies a monthly discount of ¥1,650 during the same 24 months while the discount conditions are met.
Is there an NTT registration fee?
Yes. The NTT registration fee is ¥880 tax included and is charged separately from the monthly service fee.
Will my home always need installation work?
Not always. The required work depends on the existing fiber facilities and NTT line condition at your address. After checking availability, we will tell you whether an on-site installation is required.
How long does it take to start the service?
In most cases, service can start within about 10 days to 3 weeks. The exact timing depends on the NTT installation schedule and, for apartment buildings, the installation availability or coordination required by the building.
Are 1Gbps and 10Gbps guaranteed speeds?
No. 1Gbps and 10Gbps are maximum service capability speeds. Actual speed can vary depending on your equipment, Wi-Fi environment, building conditions, network congestion and other factors.
Can I receive support in my language?
Yes. Hikari Play provides support in Portuguese, English, Filipino and Spanish from the initial inquiry through the service setup process.
What information do I need to check availability?
Please send your full address in Japan, including the building name and room number when applicable, together with your name, contact details and the plan you are interested in.
